Looking to sawp my dated Blaupunkt (with pixels missing from the display) radio casette head unit for a more modern unit, but i would like to keep the current cd changer that is in the boot...

question is, will a more modern head unit be compatable with the current cd changer?

thanks

If you buy aftermarket stereo, it will be hard to find any that will be compatible with your current CD changer. If you are looking to buy new stereo, buy one with USB adaptor which will then allow you to put all your songs on the USB stick rather than worry about CDS. Also aftermarket stereos will also require steering wheel interface to allow the volume control on steering to work

It is possible that it may do so, but an adapter may be required interface between the new unit and the old changer.

Have a look here: http://www.bluespot.co.uk/

I have used them twice in the past and have found them helpful in this regard.

Yup i have first hand experience with them, apart from hidden costs (import duty - £20- 25) its not bad at all, they have everything built in. If possible, i would try to get double din unit as that are better built and at around £250 delivered they are very very cheap. Picture quality will be good and Ipod connection/USB connection works very well too. My brother has it in his car and so does my friend.

Get one from someone who has loads of positive reviews and you should be ok

For your year you can use almost anything,,there is no d2b or most,,loads of options on Ebay. You only have a single DIN slot so a double DIN may not look right

A double DIN is a slot twice as deep as the one that you have in the SL
