All as I can cay Peter is "for the man who has everything" - btw don't ever bring your motor to this part of the world - they steal the caps whilst your waiting for the lights to change AND whilst still attached to the wheels:roll::roll:

There is only one picture as that is all that's left....

When the service manager gave them to me I asked if there was a problem of them seizing on the valves. He suggested a thin smear of Vaseline would prevent it.

His parting comment was that they probably wouldn't be on the car long enough to seize!!:razz::razz:

If these are the same as the ones I got, they are painted plastic. I was a little worried that the flared end might mark my alloys (they sit against the alloy) so I got my father-in-law to take the end off....which is when I discovered that they were plastic.

Still make the whell look better though

But not when they stick out that far,,the shorter ones would have a lower wind resistance

But for 50% of their rotation they will be pushed by the wind so saving power for the other 50% or the time when they are going into the wind.

Ah, but the chrome paint is slippierer (sic!) than the rubber valve so they're more aerodynamic,,,,probably

Thank you,,so if I fit them and screw them on so that a flat side is sticking out that will help, rather than a corner

Yep, I'm estimating an average of 15% fuel savings AND more power.:grin:

Why do people think it's acceptable to nick valve caps? Some years ago I put some aircraft valve caps on one of my cars. They were free to me, I'd cleaned the yellow paint off and sprayed them with clear lacquer so they were nice and shiny brass. They lasted two days and were lifted while the car was on my drive! The replacements lasted a couple of days longer, again taken while the car was outside my house. No cost to me but boy, did it annoy me! I've since replaced them with yet more aircraft ones but this time left them yellow. Now nobody seems to be interested in them.
If ever I catch one of those scrotes.....

Hopefully if I check pressures once a week this shouldn't happen.
