Get one thing sorted then another pops up !!

Was driving on A34 thius morning, thru the roadworks as the works came to an end put my foot down and nothing happened no drive at all, managed to coast over the lanes and pullover turned everything off restarted and it was fine.

Is this a symptom of something about to go wrong again or is it just a blip ?

Difficult to say without knowing exactly what you mean by
put my foot down and nothing happened no drive at all
.
Do you mean that the gearbox had popped into nuetral and the engine revved upto the limiter rpm, that there was no power or that the engine had died?

Engine revved but no power to the wheels when i used kickdown, felt like it had gone into neutral, however have been driving it today and seems OK.

All you can do at this stage is to check the fluid level on the auto box and see what happens

I agree. Try this. Put 4 people in each of the cars. Take them out on the motorway at motorway speed. Now try conducting a 4 way conversation. You can do it in the S Class (or in my old 211 E Class). You can not do it nearly so readily in an A8.

Perhaps this is why more Audi passengers sleep on long journeys? Perhaps that is the way they like it?

I have yet to see this phenomenon reported either in a review by a "motoring journalist", or in the advertising literature.

Interesting Alex.

Back in 1965 my friend bought a new Ford Galaxy convertible,, the advertising that went with the car said.

" Quieter than an RR as you can here the clock ticking at 60MPH"
