So after months of searching I have finally managed to purchase an S Class. 53 plate, 320CDi, an absolutely stunning example. HPI checked, insurance checked, Write-Off checked.

Downside? I had to travel 230 miles to get it. Jings.

Thanks to everyone for the buying advice - it was a huge help.

Now all I need is a reliable independent specialist in Glasgow/Central Scotland.

Couldn't agree more. When you come to sell it eventually, you will realize how good it is, and how hard (and expensive) it will be to buy anything nearly as good.

I am sure you will enjoy it immensely (mine is a 54 and I have not seen the need to polish it yet) and we look forward to seeing the pics.

If it looks and smells half as good as Alex's motor you will have a real example of a fine motorised steed.

And my car is quite fragrant too!

Not if you've bin to the Indian take away it aint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A special mixed Madras with Bombay Potato's can be quite "absorbing" Especially if you "Trouser Cough" just before alighting the vehicle & leave it locked up in the sunshine for a few hours.

Sitting down on the driving seat can (& does) Enhance the experience

Ever wondered why you see so many "Sales Reps" standing outside their cars on the telephone (Windows wound down, on cold windy days)

AH!!!!!...........Squeezed another "Joke" out there "Windy Days" !!!!!!!!!

I don't care where HC 'enjoys' his bodily functions as long as I'm not subjected to them. The same goes for his canine adventures.

My GOOD friends .................You are mis-understanding my reasoning here.....

I don't understand your reactions... EVERYBODY (Especially in Mens cases) has "Trouser Coughed" or in the Ladies cases "Skirt Fluttered" & had a little Snigger about it.

But 99% of people will not admit to it!!!!! I, on the other hand, find it not only Hilarious that people will not admit to it, but get all embarrassed about it when brought up in conversation.

I am taking the above posts in good jest & hope I have NOT crossed the line here If I have then I apologise.

I "SEE" the funny side of life, long ago I realised that "This Aint a Practice run it's for REAL" & you only get one shot at it & being "Aloof" will only cause you depression (due to "Keeping up" that appearance)

i've had my "down in dumps" times like when I lost my Business it didn't stop me from Giggling like an Idiot though when sitting in the "Official Recievers" office & he "Coughed" rather louder than he had expected to !!!
