Hi there, This is a continuation of a previous thread. My ABS light is on and won't go off. If I start up with my foot on the brake, it goes out like it should. When I release the brake, the ABS light comes on again. If I start up without the brake, the light stays on all the time.

I've just pulled the front hubs off and cleaned up the slots with a wire wheel on a drill and cleaned the lenses of the light soursce. I assume that's what they are.

The problem is still there. Is there a chance that I've fixed the problem, but need the fault codes reset?

There's no overvoltage thing. I've looked everywhere and Television has been pointing me in the right direction, but still nothing!

Thanks in advance!

hello willie, have you tested the brake pedal switch and the pressure sensors under your servo? if the light comes on only when you release the pedal it suggest a fault with one of the above.

Would that be the pressure or travel sensor for BAS in the servo

Thanks guys! I'll have a look at the brake light switch tomorrow. What should I be looking for? I've had a good at the brake servo and these doesn't appear to be anything hanging off it. Any ideas what I should be looking for there?

Thanks

Willie

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have BAS, whatever that is, so it'll be the brake light switch.

BAS is the brake assist system fitted to later c class cars and bigger e and s class cars (and other models too im sure) of that era
