my w124 e36 amg has a few spots of rust on three arches and the same round the bootlid lock, none of them i would say are major, any ideas what sort of prices i should be thinking are good or bad when i go to get some quotes? the colour is sort of a black/green metallic.

i have a few places that have been recommended to me, but i've never had any bodywork done in the past so i've no idea if i'm looking at £200 or £2000?!

It does depends on who does the work and how well, also on how well the paint might blend in rather than a complete panel being sprayed.

The other factor is how much metal needs replacing

i guess i'll just have to take it round to some places to see if i can afford to get it done! couple of friends have given me names of places they say vary in work quality and price, but i want a decent job as long as i can afford it!, i think new wings are only £50-60 each so i wonder if that would be a cheaper route.

i'm just being picky really because the rust is very small, but i over the winter i know how quickly that can suddenly turn into holes!

Cleaning out the rear on the inside and spraying on waxoil should stop it from getting any worse

I wouldnt do this if you are thnking of getting the body work done anyway quick, the bodyshops wont be too pleased, but if youre gonna leave it until after winter then go ahead use the waxoyl..

Does the average body shop do anything on the insides of the wings
