Just had a service on my 2 year old E220CDI (12,700m), at my local M.B outlet.

On the way home I noticed a vast increase in power that I hadn't experienced in this car before.

After a couple of days, the M.B people called to ask if I was satisfied with their service & I asked the bloke if they had touched the timing or anything to do with the running, but he said "No - why ?". I told him of the extra oooomph (technical term) & he said that all they do is add a bottle of Wurth to the fuel tank.

He explained that whilst it isn't the cheapest stuff in the World, they very often get the same comments as mine.

I seem to be getting an extra 3/4 mpg, but as the puter was re-set, it buggered up my 'test'. I topped up yesterday, so am doing another mpg test.

Obviously I have no idea of permenant effects, or whether my car is too new to bother with such things - but boy has it made a difference.

PS: What's the difference between Diesel Add & Common Rail diesel adds ?

Millers 4 is a very good additive, it raises the cetane levels on all diesels

MAF connection

Another "mod" that also reduces smoke and a little noise somehow is the application of dielectric grease (not silicone grease) on the MAF plug/connection.

Place some of the dielectric grease on the connectors of the MAF plug, once unplugged. Plug it back in, then remove it. Put some more dielectric grease on the connectors then plug it back in and leave it.

** Whatever you do, please do not smear dielectric grease on the working part your MAF **
