By opening the roof so that the boot opens fully, the roof will start to move back, turn off when it has opened about 12" to 14" inches and place a piece of wood under to roof an A pillar and pull the roof forward. The roof will stay where you left it for about 7 minutes, once pulled forward it will stay there

You can now get to the top of the C pillar seals to lubricate them with a good silicon grease

If you need to remove the rail that sits under the rear window so that new adhesive like Loctite super flex, just remove the nuts and it all lifts off,,surfaces must be clean.

With the boot opened as below,,you can change struts and electronic components with ease by just leaning over.

If you rear seals under the C pillar inner corners look like the picture below then they need to be glued up, and I will do a follow up for this.

online? i would avoid this if i were you malcolm. xentry is supposedly needed for many 204 functions, we see very few of these for some reason as yet.

I will re do this Mike but for now the big problem is the when you close the boot after you have re sealed the rubber under the rear window (and C pillar) the pressure of the boot tends to pull the rubber away from where it is glued, and this has been your problem even with new seals

I take a piece of garden hose and wrap it in black tape and insert it as in the first picture, closing the boot will push it down and it will find its own level, any water will pass under or through the pipe, do put enough tape around it so that it is a very tight fit.

I will do this better on the next DIY

Not at all it just needs to be stiff enough to remain a tight fit just 1" to 1½" long it must not go all the way down, or it will defeat the object. I have had mine done now for some 18 months and it will stop the boot from pulling the window and C pillar seal away,, the pipe cannot be seen when the boot is closed and you would hve to look hard to see it when it is open

Hi Guys,I have only just seen this thread but i came to the same conclusion regarding a piece of rubber pipe inserted as the foam double sided tape is a poor solution at this "stress point".
I used a 4-5 inch section of Gas Pipe in black and split the pipe down the "inside edge of its natural bend" with a craft knife for a little flexability.(the pipe used for Propane and butane gas bottle regulators that can be bought from any hardware or camping shop as an orange pipe or black pipe) This seems to be a good fit and as long as you don`t push it all the way down it works by applying a more even force along the entire pillar seal.
I also have a small leak at the rear window overlap on the left hand side that is just above a Drain pipe?(running through the boot and out i guess).
This overlap has a small foam plug that goes in a hole to hold it all together.
I am not sure yet how to fix this problem but will open the roof as sugested here and get a better look at everything. I cant get my roof to drop with the remote no matter what i do though. I would love to know how to software reset the 2004/5 comand unit as it will not see some of my CD`s and rarely titles the album and tracks,Evanescence works on alll albums but Nickelback or Jimmy Barnes does not etc...
regards
Adam
