Rory says these figures are ridiculous. Perhaps someone should tell the RAC as they come direct from their website today.

I think that Rory was referring to you moblo thing.

And on the RAC thing I can be a passenger in any car and get the same recovery service, to get the car and me to a place of my choice

I suggest you go to their website and check out the figures for a man and wife with full cover for one car and you just might find that the figures I have given are correct.

Why do you always play the 'abuse' card when others disagree with your view, there is nothing in Rory's post that could be misconstrued as 'abuse'

If I said that your posting was 'ridiculous as usual' would you consider that a compliment?

Not wishing to get involved in all the tooing and froing, I had to call Bentley assist recently and they sent an RAC man with a computer not compatible with the car. Useless!

Crossed wires. I was referring to the figures I gave.

Name dropper!

Seriously though, I thought an earlier post of mine might have helped damp down the current bout of "Mobilo Fever", but I clearly understated the case!

Hope you are still a possible for Saturday, btw?

It seems that my earlier comment has been prophetic. I can't be bothered to count the number of posts here intoning the benefits of Mobilo. For those of us who have found it unresponsive when we qualified for its use, and needed it, no amount of propaganda to the contrary will make us believe that the costs of dealer servicing, undertaken in order to ensure continuous access to Mobilo, represents any sort of a benefit.

Sorry you've had a bad experience with them. Just like another poster had a bad experoience with the RAC. I suppose there will be a wide range of good and bad experiences with all these services.

I happen to have had good service from Mobilo as does my brother. I assume it is OK to mention that just as you can report your problems with them.

For me, wanting full cover for me and my wife and wanting cover in Europe, Mobilo represents pretty good value as the AA and RAC are both costly for the full treatment. That's not propaganda. Just a personal preference in my case (which I assume I am allowed) and I carefully set out the facts from the RAC site so others could see just what the full cover does cost nowadays.

Your overall MB experience continues to be at odds with the experience that many others have,

I said it was ridicuous to quote the AA cover at £150. I know it says that on the website, but nobody actually pays that figure. You showed the RAC figures, which have a similar headline cost, but then they knock £40 off. Malcolm noted that he gets a 50% discount on his RAC membership.

You are of course allowed to do as you please but you don't have to keep ramming it down our throats, especially in threads where it's not particularly relevant.

1.My overall Mercedes experience is very much in line with that of large numbers of owners as shown by the JD Power survey and others.

2. I showed the discount given by the RAC in my figures. And quoted directly and correctly the cover available and what it cost. Those are the figures you charmingly called ridiculous -even though they are correct.

3. Interesting how anti-MB-dealers comments are just fine with you, but anything in their favour gets roundly criticised.

Forums are about a range of different views and experiences.

It might please you and some others in this thread if I pretended that my experience with Mercedes and Mobilo had been awful, but it hasn't.

This is what the RAC website says and what I posted in posting number 567: -

Cheap cover £43
We'll fix your vehicle at the roadside, as long as you're over ¼ mile away from home. In the unlikely event we can't fix your vehicle we'll tow you to an approved garage within 10 miles.
Cover if broken down at home is extra
We'll come and help if your vehicle won't start when you're at home or if you break down within ¼ of a mile of your house.
Recovery is also extra
Choosing Recovery extends your cover to include:
• If we can't repair your vehicle locally within a reasonable time, we'll take your vehicle and up to 7 people to your home or a single address in United Kingdom, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
• We'll provide transport as above if you're taken ill and cannot continue your journey if you have no passengers who can drive the vehicle.
TOTAL COST NOW IS £149-50p less online discount today of £41-12p

EUROPEAN cover is extra and you must buy personal cover as well to get it.

Tell us please of what use the J D Powers surveys are over here in the UK. they have the "lemon laws" that would have fixed all of my faults free, as the components were faulty, and nothing to do with the owner of the car.

We have no such rights over here,,I still have not received a reply from Dermot kelly in 3 weeks, ( I have just realized that he was a car salesman from MB Bedford, and I have met him there)

2. I showed the discount given by the RAC in my figures. And quoted directly and correctly the cover available and what it cost. Those are the figures you charmingly called ridiculous -even though they are correct.

If I get a 50% discount and the offers on the web site show very good discounts why is the RAC so bad

3. Interesting how anti-MB-dealers comments are just fine with you, but anything in their favour gets roundly criticised.

Yes but you do not come clean,,you outed your S class as the fault could not be fixed, but deny it on here

Forums are about a range of different views and experiences.

As above,,as long as you are honest

It might please you and some others in this thread if I pretended that my experience with Mercedes and Mobilo had been awful, but it hasn't.

I do urge you to venture out into the real world, and that includes the UK and this forum.
Please read some of the other post that come in, rather than sitting in a section or post that you put up.

JD Power is not just about America. That is the US survey.

The results I put up are for the UK survey and so are very relevant and probably a lot more representative of 'the real world' than forums where inevitably many people tend to come when they have a problem.

You called me a liar once before only recently. Others cannot see it because your post was removed and the thread closed. I see this time you put it slightly more nicely . But not that much more nicely.

This is mine, and do I feel guilty of not giving 10% of my income to MB = no

Did you put the facts up here =NO

Did you tell anyone other than me of your problems = NO

You can push things around all you like, but you did not and have not ever come clean on this,,so why should we believe anything that you say or put up

Good. I'm delighted for you. Lots of credit cards and banks and insurance companies do offer deals on breakdown cover or even include it in a package of other 'goodies'.

But that does not alter the fact that my figures are from the RAC website for a man and wife (not single as yours is) and for full cover. That is what I happen to want and for that dealer servicing and 'free' Mobilo happens to be my best bet.
