Hello everyone - first post!

My wife's CLK200 has an armrest that looks like this:

http://www.fastlane.com.au/press-re...clk-mercedes-cabriolet-coupe/clk-interior.jpg

The problem is that we took the armrest cover panel off (the one that you open from the side to access your phone tray) and can't get it back on. So far, we have struggled with holding a side button in, whilst pushing the plastic spring loaded clip inwards at the back, and trying to slot the two hinges into the two hinge slots. We got one side of the cover located in the end, but now the other side just will not go. It is the little metal pin - the one that should locate in the rear hinge, that is not retracting enough.

Can anyone help, please?

Hello and welcome,, I take it that it is the center arm rest, can you put up the next 3 VIN numbers after the 3 letters like WDB

Hi there - thanks for responding so quickly. The VIN number is WDB209 ...

Yes, the central armrest.

We get the impression that the hinge clips are in the locked state. The side buttons don't press in much, and the metal pins in the hinges don't retract. I've tried using the metal key, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

You asked me to remind you. Anything?

We have three of the four corners located, but the final one, the driver's side rear hinge pin, will not retract sufficiently. I tried fiddling with the key again, but no luck.

Thanks. Do I need to post my email address, or do you have another way?

Ah, I see that you can access it already.

If you need to post it physically, just let me know what you need.

It is a lot more complicated than I expected, but the upside to that is that it might yet work. Thanks again!

We'll try it in daylight.

Well, it worked, after a bit of messing about. Items 16 and 18 on the sheet refer to button 5, when it should be 3. Fully functional now, though .. just the CD player to get working ...
