Hi Everyone,

This is my first post and I hope you can help. I have a C200 CDi SportCoupe, (W203 55 plate) and I've just noticed that the speaker grill on the door card has been badly cracked after traping the seat belt between the door and seat.

Here's a picture:

Does anyone have instructions for removing the door card and a part number for the speaker grill?

Any help you can offer would be great. My e-mail address is Petticowick@stabbs.com

Many Thanks,

Petticowick

Welcome to the forum :D:D I have sent you the door card instructions.

Re the grill, you can only get this from MB and they will need your VIN number,as they are coloured and the right one required

Thanks

Phoned the local MB dealer today, they carry the part in stock. :D The guys knew exactly what I needed as it's a very common problem. Total cost of part was about £14. :D

Bought a Torx screw-driver set as I didn't have one.

Followed the instructions to remove the door card. Drilled the heads of melted plastic to remove the old speaker cover. Then used a solder gun to melt the plastic to seal the new cover in place. The smoke of that plastic is nasty stuff.

Reinstalled the door card.

Whole job took about 20 mins.

Very happy, thanks for the help Malcolm. :D:D:D

Door Trim Removal

Hi,

[first post] :p

Could someone send me the door trim removal guide please?

I trapped my wife's seatbelt in door when it was cold and smashed the speaker cover

Coupe is the same as this, except you don't have to remove the door handle, just the screw bellow it.

Sorry to jump in here, but I am a new member, I have a C230 Kompressor Coupe 2005, very pleased with it, but have now ruined two speaker grills, Dealership charging me an "arm and a Leg" to replace it. They have supplied me with a new grille abot £15.00 and I wish to do it myself. I am aware of how to replace the grille but would apreciate details of door panel removal, just want to ensure I get it right, instead of "poke and hope"
Thanks in anticipation.....
