Disabled by gluttony I watched someone I know breathlessly roll out of his expensive motor.
His limbs are strangers to each other through fat,
his clothes strain to contain the buckets of yellow grease trapped beneath his flaccid skin.
He has never done a tap except consume to excess and milk people after inheriting a sizeable fortune.
He qualifies for a Blue Badge entirely because of lifestyle choices,

I think its fraud,

and undermines the system for those genuinely unlucky enough to labour with conditions entirely beyond their control
Will the forthcoming changes to the scheme change anything ?

Not sure if blue badges are limited in terms of how many can be issued, so don't understand how it undermines any else's position.

Agree that criteria for issue is very subjective - "can't walk more than X feet" - so very easy to manipulate

........And you are not at all jealous are you?

Indeed blue badge fraud is a big problem, but this guy may have medical condition/s that make it hard to exercise enough to keep his weight down...He may have back or leg problems, heart problems etc. But if he has the money to get a nice car, well, why should he not enjoy something nice in his otherwise maybe very unhappy life? OR Maybe you are spot on and he is a big, fat, rich waste of space fraudster!

Happy New Year Mr. Scrooge, and if anyone ever leaves you any money in a will, let me know and i will supply you with some good causes to donate it to.

If you read my post;

I know him he is disabled only by excess.

He helps foster the notion that anyone with either a blue badge or in receipt of any benefits is on the make thereby undermining the genuine recipients.

Maybe it takes you being in his position for you to understand

By the way,I've a friend like that and you'd think he's got the badge only because of excess but that's until you see the amount of medication he takes

I did read your post...and found it to be a one way rant against a man that can not defend himself, or is he a member of this forum too?

Disabled by Gluttony ...And you are a doctor with access to the guy's medical history i presume?
I know lot's of people, but i could not and would not publish a rant against them on a public forum as you have.
This only says to me that you are a very bitter and jealous person that has got a grudge with someone, and you have used the forum to try to solicit support for your personal dislike of a guy who we don't know and furthermore who does not know of this threads existence and so cannot defend himself.

Get him to join up here and let us hear his side of the story, this is not a thread about blue badge fraud, it is a thread against a man only you know and dislike.
I only hope that he does not count you as a friend!

Absolutely pathetic handwringing nonsense, you have no way of accurately identifying this person you merely wish to elicit faux outrage.
My post is about the abuse of the Blue Badge scheme.
Genuinely disabled people find parking spaces taken away from them by him and his ilk.

I wonder if he inherited at a young age - those who seem to inherit (or find fame at a young age) often seem to adopt addictive behavioural characteristics - drugs, drink, food, shopping...apparently anything that's rewarded in the short term and destructive in the long run can be addictive.

I guess if you don't have to work for what you earn then you don't learn responsibility or self control...so i wouldn't be jealous of anyone who inherits such a sum and does nothing with it as it has probably made his overall life worth.

And just because the OP begrudges this man getting a blue badge for self induced factors does not mean he is jealous. As resources are ever tightened in the coming years I could imagine real questions about charging drinkers, smokers, over eaters for their health care and putting more blame on them for their situation becoming the norm...and it's not a black and white question as there are emotive arguments both for and against.

Blue Badges....

You can print your own straight off the internet.

The stupid part of this system is the photograph faces down so nobody can recognise who has the disability.....:shock:

Oh Please!
Read your own first post!
You did not even mention the blue badge until the 5th line of it, it was up until then all about this guy!
Face it, you are jealous of him for having an "expensive motor" and an inheritance and who knows what else, maybe a nice wife or a better life than you. I bet you talk to him in the street and he may even class you as a mate, you are having a good old go at the guy and he knows nothing about it!
Keyboard warrior is the term that springs to mind.

PS If your post really is about the abuse of the blue badge scheme...you had better re-write it.

Read LINE 1 of Post it says Blue Badge Fraud

Entirely incorrect and if you had the extreme misfortune to know him and I suppose me you wouldn't make that innacurate statement.
I bet you talk to him in the street and he may even class you as a mate,
Definitely not.

Your right I should have put BLUE BADGE FRAUD in another colour for those whose sight is clouded by attention seeking sycophantic myopia.

How apt that the silliest most pointless thread is posted on the last day of the year!

I presume you do not feel you have to concern yourself with anyones disability.

I don't think he means that - it's just that you're batting this back and forth and there will be no conclusion - it's just entertainment for the bystanders.

I'd go silent gracefully and be done with it.
