Hi i have e300td 98 auto estate the gearbox feels bit sluggish pulling away just got this car my last was c180 auto that felt much tighter and responsive is there anything i could check.Thanks in advance for any help.

Do have the box in C or sport, sport uses 1 gear to pull away, C uses 2nd......

And it is known that the switch can operate ok but nothing happens as the dolly in the switch sticks in the or W mode, it is an easy fix to lift out the dolly,, You can test this when facing uphill. In the W or C mode the car should not roll back, in the S mode it will or should

Thanks for replys it def pulls away in 1st as i have counted up changes.feels like it might be slipping slightly worse when pulling away from stand still.Could it possably be low fluids(atf)I had to pull up a curb and seened to take quite a few revs.Thanks

It is easy to make a dip stick from curtain wire where the fluid should be 6.5 cm up the wire at 80c
