C220 CDI 2001
Hi Guys.
I have a C220 CDI Auto 2001.
Today i was using a casette adapter for my ipod. It was working fine.

I turned the car off, and popped back 10 mins later and suddenly no sound.

The stero came on, but no output.
I tried to eject the casette adpater, and nothing happened.

I tried to change CD's in the auto changer. Again nothing,
No radio either.

On the dash computer it Says:
Audio
----

See attached pics.

Anyone got ideas?

Pull the radio fuse to power it off for a few seconds. Power back up and see if that helps. (cant remember if they have a security code?)

Main fuse box, I couldn't tell you which one off the top of my head. Not saying it will work, but it's what I'd try as a next step.

Cool will give it a shot first thing.
I did read on froogle.. that its a common fault.
Apparently if you have a bose system it could be the amp (i dont think mine is bose, and it wouldnt explain the CD autochanger, and cassette player not working?)

Also something about a coaxial cable coming loose (but then that wouldnt explain why it worked until i turned the car off would it?).

If its not the fuse do you know how to remove the whole unit?

Yeah, removing the unit involves removing the center vents, the vents spin round to reveal four torque screws. the trim below it with clicks out, wack the car in reverse, remove the key and then unplug the switches (keep the key off or you will get an SRS warning up). I think the ashtray comes out too, again useless memory won't let me remember the steps.
I think a reset (fuse out, back in) may well solve it, best of luck.

So there you go, if it gets stuck again, hand the keys over to the Missus! :)

Ok i forgot about this thread,
So today i decided to check if the HU had an aux, so found instructions on how to remove the HU, did so.

But disconnected all the switches and things.

Now i have the SRS :s

Any ideas?
