Tank was near empty so I filled it with super unleaded from the Esso station then further down the road it just spluttered a bit and lost power - pulled over to the side of the road and refuses to start now!

She might be protesting at needing a clean!!

Waiting for the RAC :(

I'm just really worried that it happened right after I filled it up - I know I used the right pump and the receipt I have verified it :D

I tried to restart it but it's not having any of it - I know that when the RAC man arrives it'll start first time but I don't want to keep trying to start it in case it makes it worse

Oh,dear. While you're waiting,take the petrol cap off and have a sniff,perhaps?

Just to put your mind at rest - not suggesting solvent abuse :(

You used the right pump, did the delivery driver put the right fuel in the underground tank? First job get a sample of whatever is in your tank.

I did that, and then realised I don't know the difference between petrol and diesel smells... Still it relaxed m a bit :D

The RAC man arrived and while he was looking at fuel I called cole@mbs who said "crank sensor" ... The RAC man connected his computer and it said... CRANK SENSOR :D

Waiting in the worst storm (hailstones, thunder, lightening) for a tow truck to take me to MBS :D

It's all too easy to use the wrong pump when you're not paying attention ...... apparently!:rolleyes:

It did that here this afternoon as I was washing & polishing my car.

(I think it's the first proper clean it's ever had )

Really?!? It didn't run when the RAC man tried it!

Car is obviously bored and is now openly mocking me :( ImageUploadedByTapatalk1350494884.926534.jpg

Ive had this problem dan, if you wait 20 mins from your last try it might cool down enough for the car to start and getyou home ,or at least to a dryer place

Good luck

And presumably it'd cut out again when it got up to temperature?

Tow truck has been ordered - can't imagine he'd be pleased about me not being here when he turns up :D

Should run again now she is cool Dan!!!!!!!

but for how long? ;) ;) I tried to get nearer home after the crank sensor went on my Vauxhall (pre OBDII & could flash the fault codes up using a paperclip) Car restarted after it cooled, but got me about half a mile up the road.
