Offside wing mirror, W210

My driver's side wing mirror seems to have de-laminated and liquid leaked out over a number of months. Its a bit unsightly now, although is still usable. Can anyone give me an idea how to remove and replace it. They are heated, and is a suitable new spare available?

You can buy a new glass for only £299 from MB..

.Or you can buy a stick on glass for £10, OK it will not dim but the heated part will still work, you can also buy a heated glass on Ebay quite cheap and I can give you the instructions to fit it

My R Class's mirror just clips onto the motor, as does EmilysMum's Smart and the Vauxhalls I have had. Just takes a bit of bravery to lever it off. Swivel the glass towards the door ie towards yourself if sat in the car & lever it some more. You'll pop it off .... or break it completely!

Local Mercedes dealer told me about some MB door mirrors costing that much when I bought a £20-odd none heated mirror for EmilysMum's Smart.


(I then had to buy another cos I'd not clipped it in properly & it fell out! :Oops: )

Found this u-tube video of the mirror glass replacement, its for a 202 which is the exactly the same as a prefacelift 210.

Or if a facelift car, when i did mine i found removing/replacing the glass was easier to remove the cover first indeed i think you might even have too, once the cover is removed the glass is held by a simple wire clip on the top edge of the glass.

As others have said, try ebay or put in google," Mercedes wing mirrors wanted" and usually there are a number of contacts for MB Parts.

The first video from Bigasotonuk looks exactly like mine. The mirrors don't fold in.
I have got a mirror glass on its way from WorldCarMirrors from ebay.

good video I should be able to see whats up with my passenger side mirror as it will not stay forward, it just flops back slightly , so something has broken or become disengaged

I might take you up on that is it the facelift 210 one with the spring clip as per the 2nd you tube video above .
My Cover is OK and the Glass is OK so from reading other posts that only leaves the plate mechanism It looks like some of the drive shafts are loose / hanging out its difficult to see from the other mirror how they should be as the internal shroud / cover covers it and its difficult to prise back , currently trying to remove it to get better picture of exactly what has broken and where . However as said it looks like the plate mechanism is Toast

It is Toast The Motor housing has split in half and the other half is flopping about in the outside of the mirror
I had trouble getting the Mirror indicator Lights to Work after replacing had to put the cover back on about 6 times On the Pass side Its notworking at all and there seems to be voltage switching however That will get sorted when I get a new Mirror Mechanism and Frame
Hopefully malcs one fits otherwise its a trawl round the breakers
starting with 3 pointed parts and Rob.
