Hi I am thinking of fitting 2 om606 engines to my boat, are these engines all mechanical or is there some electronics fitted.
I need an engine that gives 170bhp so this one in turbo form fits the bill if there are electronics can they be modified.
And does anybody now there physical size ie length x width x hight
Thanks
Regards Kevin

If Im right earlier engines, early-mid 90s are available as mechanical ie traditional ignition key and mechanical injection pump linkages

Later models have electronic control IR Ignition/ecu/injection pump and I believe ignition and ecu will have to be matched

Depends what your application is, how simple/easy to repair you want to keep it ,I would lean towards the mechanical route myself, you can also get 175HP out of the OM 605 5 cylinder engine quite easily with very little modification

Give somewhere like Dronsfields a call theyll know what years and specs

Intrigued by Yorkshire's comment regarding boosting OM605 performance. Is this without oil cooled pistons and turbocharging? If so I'm interested. Any more info, links etc please?

With you now. I'm familiar with the Scandinavian guys who make those things fly. Won't be happening with my N/A one though.....
