Hi

i have a CLK 240 on a '52 plate. Auto and randomly when coming to a stop (traffic lights etc) the rev's drop to almost stall point (it doesn't stall) and there is what i can only decribe as a gyroscopic side to side slow judder. the rev's then blip up and it settles. the worrying thing is though that when the rev's blip the car wants to pull away. any ideas???

I had this symptom a few months ago. Started like this and developed into a judder when manouvering at low speeds (which made me think it was the transmission) and a slight reluctance to accellerate from standstill. Mine was a knackered injector causing a poor spray pattern at low fuel loads. Might be worth a check.

Not applicable on the petrol version (well not until galactic milage). another +1 on the throttle bodies, had a friends VW polo doing the same, cleaned the throttle bodies and all ok :

This is for a vw polo but the concept is the same.
