Correct, only from MB and they cost a bomb, you may get lucky from a breaker and a late one

I cannot recall it being asked before, maybe the driver was over weight, if it is the frame that is failing then they can be repaired in most cases

Same problem with mine.
I don't think it's just Vitos, I've seen it on several vans where you have to climb up to the seat.
I think the edge just gets rubbed away as you get in and out.

It would be nice to get the same material and, as Cole says get it done by a local upholsterer.
(I even looked at getting a head restraint of ebay and cutting it up. But unfortunatley not big enough for a continuous length of material.)

I asked for a price for a leather seat (comfort type) for my Vito and the price just for the seat (no base) was £945.00!

Ebay or breakers are the places to look.

Since I have had a mojor back problem I fing the Vito seats are too firm.
I may sell my Vito front seats if I can get some Volvo ones to fit in their place. I might try some 210 leather ones if I can work out how to get the electric side of things working.

Sell the Vito and get a Vivaro, proper comfy seats, and no rust to worry about.

If a Vivaro had a V6 I'd probably go down that route. My Vauxhall's have been good vehicles and the dealerships were okay. The Vito V6 is fun and does take the grind out of a long day.

You are spot on about the bodywork though, it's cr4p and p!sses me off in a big way.

Aren't all Vitos galvanised from 2005 (approx) on?

My 57 plate has no rust at all!

Paul's one had a rusty tailgate, but Mercedes didn't accept it was a bodywork issue and pretended that it was a mechanical problem.

It's not just that they make rusty vans when nobody else does, it's that their rust warranty is worthless.
