Hi, I am going to attempt to fit a new sat nav system to my cls but I cannot get the trim around my gear stick removed. I have found guides and videos on how to do it on an e class but apparently the cls is different so if anyone knows how or has any tips I'd be very grateful.

Pull the trim from the ashtray end, just pull it straight up, you WILL need both hands......

Cheers, I had tried that earlier but it wouldn't shift. I will try and pull a bit harder tomorrow, just didn't want to break anything.

Did it this weekend on my 55 plate CLS55.

It really is a question of pulling ! Worst case scenario is you break the plastic trim that the leather sits over. This would mean gluing it back together, but bear in mind that there's no stress on any of the gear shift surround components. In addition, it's built like a brick outhouse :)

Have no fear - go for it !
