jump starting a W202 C-class

Hello all,
I have a 1995/N C-class, W202.
I have been told that I can jump start from specific points under the bonnet, if the boot is full or otherwise inaccessible. However, I can't find this information in the owner's manual.
Does anyone know (a) whether this is correct and (b) where the points are?
The archived post http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/archive/index.php/t-27852.html describes this in a little more detail, but it seems to suggest that one of the wires should be red - on my car, all 3 are black, which makes me wonder if I'm in the right place.

You have a plastic cover over the battery connection in the inside of the wing

be very careful how you do it, i blew my alternator when doing this on my W202 years ago...

Some basic rules,

MOST IMPORTANT:-
Never reverse the polarity, make absolutely certain sure its red to red (pos+), or its good bye alternator and some other bits, ££££££££ gone in 60 milliseconds.

Always connect the hot (red, pos+) side first on both cars, before the earth/frame/ground (neg-) lead is anywhere near the job. This reduces the short circuit and fire risk if a lead is dropped whilst its other end is connected.

Run the donor car for a few minutes before attempting to start the sick one. This puts a little amount of charge into the recipient battery and makes for less load on the donor and jump leads when the starter is fired up.

Always disconnect the earthy side first on both cars.

As far as I was aware you cannot start the car from the point under the bonnet, its not man enough to take the starting current of the starter motor, but use that point to put a slave battery to flash up the car electrics, enabling you to open the car up, and get to the cars battery.

It's to be hoped that you can with mine (prety sure the hand book identifies them as jump start points ). Access to the car's battery is virtually none existant.
