When I go surfing I always lock the car up using the electronic fob (but with the drivers door still open). I then slide out the metal door lock key, hide the fob under the floor mat, shut the drivers door and lock it manually, then stash the door key under the car before I go in the sea. I usually reach round a rear wheel and stash it on top of a rear lower arm. However today it fell into the arm which is ofcourse full of holes and has a plastic cover on the bottom and it couldn't be retrieved. It seems to have fallen right in and is probably resting on the plastic cover which attaches to the underside of the rear lower arms.

In the event that I can't find it there, how and where can I get a replacement?
Just the metal door lock key, not the actual electronic key (Im well aware those are over £200!).
Thankfully I have a spare key, so I'm ok at the moment.
Thanks in advance.

Yes the metal key is available, having said the plastic over comes off s with luck you should be able to get your key back.

Haha, yeah there are so few C250 TD estates in Pembs, let alone ones parked at surf breaks that giving that info wasnt such a good idea!
I've thought I should use the wetsuit key pocket, but then Id have to remember to leave a bottle of water outside the car to rinse the key off before putting it in the lock to get into the car (salt in door lock = bad).
It has been raining here for 4 days non stop now, and I can't take the car down the garden to shed and thence to the ramp to investigate until it dries out a bit or I'll get stuck but I hope it's stuck there and that I can retrieve it.

So I take it Mercedes can order a new one based on my chassis number?
Do you frequent Pembs then? There's a huge lack of Mercs! Any of the german cars are mostly BMWs.
