It cost me £1350.

Some dealer quote me about £1900.

It is within 10 years old.

One guy from Mercedes bishop's stortford said Mercedes changed the warranty to 8 years recently.

I think that everyone will be paying in the EU, just those in the USA with their lemon laws do not have to pay, the pump is about £850 so the rest is labour, it does not take that long to fit

I wish that we had a clear answer from MB on this SBC subject, if I am honest it's seriously affecting my ownership experience and am considering selling the S211 as I really don't want to be spending circa £1500 on it.

Admittedly mine is only 8 years old but the thought of pressing the brakes one day and having trouble stopping is quite scary.

I don't understand why there isn't a (chargeable, if need be) option to retro fit a servo system in the event of SBC failure. We're told there is no room, but they fitted 'em in the facelifts............... All the pipes are there as on a traditional system. Surely a software patch to knock out the ECU involvement wouldn't be rocket science for MB? Sort the SBC and the W211/S211 is a superb car.

But it takes longer to bleed and test the system.
