Probably just a lack of grease on the rear pads, is it important

Have you checked if there's any grit stuck between the pad and the disc?

That would not cause a squeal , it would make a grinding sound

I disagree, that's if there were lots of grit spread around, if it is concentrated on one spot it would squeal as the pressure would be concentrated on a single spot.....

It is the surface of the disc on the pad that makes the pad resonate to produce the squeal. Pads are far to hard to get any grit in the surface.

But that is fine by me if you wish to disagree :D:D

But it is possible. The pad is a softer compound than the disc after all.

Its up to you, the pressure on any grit would soon crush the what ever it was and again grit cannot cause a squeal, it would make a grinding sound

important no very annoying yes

All you can do is to remove the pads, re grease them and re fit, sanding the disc may help, another thing is the rear brakes only get 28% of the braking force, you could try a few very hard stops to see if t goes away

I find a good jet washing (pressure wash) with the wheels off helps although only for a month or two.

Malcolm's suggestion is probably a better long term fix.
