Hi. Does anyone have any idea what would cause my front suspension on my CLS to creak when coming to a stop. It only happens in the final few metres before stopping and is worse if I turn the wheels as I slow. Does not do it any other time.
Thank you in advance for any help
Roy

Lower ball joints, just done mine for exactly the same problem.

Loads of threads on here and videos on TouTube on how to replace them, an easy job for the DIY'er.

Thanks. Was concerned it was front springs. Read a lot about them breaking.

You'd know if it was the springs, the front drops quite a bit and when you drive the car it feels different.

If you suspect a spring issue then a simple check is to park it on level ground and measure the gap between the wheel centre cap and a fixed point on the bodywork on both sides and then compare.

Okay. Will do check on springs, otherwise I shall buy the Ball joint splitter/installer and do the lower ball joints. Thanks for advice.
