ABS every time No warning lights

Hello my 210 2001 320cdi car is having a paddy, every time I brake I get the pedal chatter of ABS and the cars revs fluctuate from tickover to about 1200 with my foot off has anyone any pointers for me.
As per title I have no warning lights.

If the BAS sensor is playing up thats in the reservoir tank, I cannot tie the RPM changing on a diesel,,I will have to look at the diagrams

Under the passenger side back seat there is a sensor. When you disconnect this the abs will stop working (but otherwise full brakes are available). You may also find that the variation in the revs stops also (it did with mine). Try switching the ESP off...that stopped the variation in revs on mine too. CC continues to work as normal.

It isn't the sensor causing the fault, I know because I was able to swap with a known good one.

I feel the need to explore under the rear seats, amongst the sweets odd change and fluff that accumulates !

Yes, it's the Bosch part, the smaller of the two boxes under the seat. 0 265 005 230

Don't know, not got out yet, but the wine gum was still okay, the zip tie is holding some cable and the coin sits waiting to enrich the councils parking department.
After that success seems a shame to ruin it with the cars maladies.

Will try cleaning out the crud around the sensors and reluctor rings first.

Result, fortified by the wine gum and encouraged by the sunshine I have found the below hopefully it will be cured when a new "Jubilee Clip" is reluctor-lantly fitted

Could not you have chewed the wine gum a little and used it to glue the ring

No didn't want to dwell it was an orange one and black is my favourite.
Have been pricing them up (Reluctors that is not wine gums) prices from £15-£43.80 ???
They do feel like a Jubilee clip must be missing something.
Then of course its getting to the end of the shaft will have to leave that for a bit, now to find the fuse to switch off the ABS see if it will drive ok without.

I do not think there are any fuses for this,,,but you never know

I tried that blimey what a difference car ran badly and a full complement of lights EPC BAS ABS ESP I think I have upset its feelings.
I reconnected restarted and running improved lights still on but weirdly steering is now stiffer, time for another wine gum.

Decided to charge battery overnight see if some volts cheers things.

Update all fixed all lights out and running fine.
Two new reluctor or speed sensor rings fitted.
Remove drive shafts and wheels only to fit, clean up shafts and put new rings on.
There is no need to buy complete shafts, second hand shafts will probably fail soon anyway.
The problem appears to be corrosion under the rings eventually splitting them.
The rings were £10 each delivered and this price will no doubt fall.
The shafts and rings could be painted with hammerite or similar to prolong life.
I have even read of a split one being glued back on !
They could be welded as well but I preferred to replace.
