Hi Guys

I left the key in the car over night and was'nt aware the radio was on, it's now complely flat, i tryed linking jump leads up to the points the manuel shows & whilst I got some lights, etc on the dash,it would turn over, i've now charged the battery but no lights, locks, windows, etc everything is out & dead. Is their a main fuse that I might have blown?
Its an E-class coupe 250CGI, 2009....Please help!!

No main fuse, have you any means of measuring the voltage across the battery

I had same problem but mine was a e 280 and battery in boot but I had a main fuse behind a panel against back seat in the boot ...but television said no main fuse ,(he's much smarter than me )but make sure as most main pos cables from battery if followed can lead to a master fuse .when it went in mine it killed the whole car.

I am sure there is no main fuse as such,, but I could be wrong, it will be a maxi if there is in a fuse box,,, but no reason for it to blow unless leads connected reversed and battery offering no resistance at all

Had this with my S500 last year. The battery needs to be connected to a charge for quite some time before it will start to actually take any charge if it has been completely discharged. If you still have no joy you need new battery. Mine was about £100 from dealer and cheaper than car accessory retailer even with my discount. (I'm in the trade).

I would think that the battery was so dead and the current draw was too great to crank the engine into life.

I would never recommend jump starting a MB anyway, the way forward is to trickle charge it back to life with a 12v battery charger.

And disconnected to as the high voltage can damage many things as it offers no resistance when dead flat.

Modern batteries are normally not much good if been left flat for very long

2005 CL500.
So, let me get this straight. You post about a problem at 7:51pm on Saturday and immediately log off...and still haven't reappeared at 5:35pm the next day. So...not an urgent inquiry?

I have just had exactly the same problem by leaving the radio back on. It will take a long time to recharge and jump starting just wont work. You will have to use a battery charger to get it back to life. 20hrs on the trickle charge should be enough.

A 90 amp battery takes 22 hours at a constant 4 amps
