1991, 124 series 260 rear door window help

I wonder if anyone can furnish me with a drawing of how the rear electric window mechanism assembles please. Generally speaking, its the clip and how the cables conect, and how the central cable runner is assembled.

My offside rear window has decided to stop short of the top about an inch, possibly due to over enthusiast 4 year old playing around with the window switch, window up and down constantly.

Took the door card off, and seem to have a metal clip affair that had come loose. I managed to rotate it upwards, and by hand, the window fully closes, but a cable and clip that came off during my attemps at fixing the problem is difficult to establish how it re assembles

This is normally a gear tooth that has worn off and many including one this week on here, many built up the worn teeth with weld and then file to shape

It appears that the rear window winder mechanism is different to the front, where I have encountered in the past, the problem you describe with a tooth worn on the long steel rack part.

The rear however, has a motor, and a pulley arrangement, with a wire cable to operate the glass up and down.

Its the bit that fits on the lower glass and the clip arrangement for the cable I'm struggling with. Cant see very well inside the door to fathom it all out, and dont really want to strip the whole lot out to understand how it works, but looks like I might have to, or remove other door card I suppose to get an idea.

To remove the lifter a plastic clip on the part which connects the lift to the glass needs removal, it slides out, the window needs to be slightly lowered for it to slide easily but if its jammed up a bit of force helps.
I have had to use force to extract a jammed closed rear lift in the past, with care any "damage" done to its top slip in mounting can be sorted.

The motors have a cable drum which can get over wound, if you are lucky they can be opened up and sorted out, I don't know if the later type are riveted but on both mine they have bolted motors/gearboxes which can be dismantled sufficiently to put them back into order.

I took the whole assembly out of the door. As you said, remove clip to allow it to become free of the glass. I now see how the clip holds the swivelling plate in place, or not, as in my case, which was the cause of the problem.

I eased the one visible locating lug up, after reassebly, to assist in it not moving round again.

My cable had got itself in a mess around the drum, splayed out in parts, and a word of advice, having removed the cover, and then the drum, its a hell of a job to get it all wound up and put back together.

So much so, thinking of abandoning it and taking one out of my donor car.

All this said, I rather like the idea better than the toothed quadrant idea on the front windows !!!
