...and loving every minute of it, Always wanted a W124, and its exceeding all expectations(so far!)

'92 White, grey leather,120K, Sportline, 5 speed auto, AC, cruise, orthopaedic heated seats etc etc.

Drove London to Edinburgh, leaving London just in time for M1/M6 Friday rush hour traffic nightmare. Torrential rain, fog, and ice on the way home Never missed a beat, and arrived 8hrs later surprisingly refreshed. I love it already!

Quick questions - The armrest/door grab handle on the passenger side is slightly loose & rattling. There doesn't appear to be screwed to tighten up, so I'm assuming its clipped to the door frame. Anyone had this/ tips on fixing?

The E/S mode plastic slider is missing from the top of the switch, although you can still select between them. Can this be replaced?

Any tips on maintenance/parts supply/tips etc would be very much appreciated from a first time Merc owner!

Thanks TV, diagram is just what I was hoping for!

It's loose at the lower armrest (part 41). Is there anything I should watch for if I'm removing the doorcard?

Thank you, Teddycatkin!

Quick update - Got the E/S mode switch from Euromercwebstore for £1.50, together with a new air filter, the old one was looking well past it's best.

Delivered next day, and a good bit cheaper than from MB. Great service.

Any other good places for parts?

Next is new transmission fluid. The box changes perfectly, and the fluid looks pretty fresh, but just to be sure...

First time I've had a good root around the car - these old Mercs really are put together properly. There's almost no wear at all to the interior!

A good tip is to leave gearbox fluid well alone !
