What tuning box to go for??

Been looking into this for a little while now and have settled on 1 of 2 tuning boxes. I can't decide which is going to be better, see the links below and give me your thoughts

Personally if it were me i wouldnt go for tuning box i would get a remap done

I recently fitted a used tuning box to my ml, it is a few years old, and the type that connects directly to the ecu via 4 plugs (2 in, 2 out) rather than connections at the common rail. It seems to have made the car move off from a standing start more livelier with less of a delay, and also more power whilst on the go. The difference is 'subtle' rather than dramatic.
There is no increase in smoke from the exhaust, even when floored!.

ps.... have a look at dtuk tuning boxes, they would be high on my list if i had been looking at buying new.. (dte are the same company as dtuk)

having had both on my s211, i'd agree that the remap was far superior than the box. The over fuelling of the box made my injectors noisy, something i also noticed that happened to all my other diesels that had been 'box tuned'

New, Brabus boxes are very expensive - almost cost prohibitive, however, you get something endorsed by MB, which may be important to you.

Second hand Brabus boxes are cheap, but secondhand.

Either way, tell your insurance or spend the insurance money elsewhere as you're not covered.

thanks all, re-map sounds like the way to go, I had thought about it but was swaid by the idea of a plug and play box. Anyone know of a mapper in the Nottinghamshire area?

just out of interest, is there a brabus unit for the early 220cdi'a with the 611 engine that i have? if so, which one is it?
