Diagnostic Socket

Hi, I would like to find out if my SLK 320 (year 2000) has one or two diagnostic sockets. I can only find the one near the bonnet release catch but I think I saw somewhere a mention of one under the bonnet. If this is so could anybody guide me as to where it is positioned.

under the bonnet, top right corner there is a circular cover on the ecu box unscrew and the diag socket is in there.

Thanks for the info jib but my mechanic and I cannot find the socket anywhere. Is it possible my model does not have a second socket?

Only the 1 x 38 pin socket on a 170 under the bonnet


Is there a socket under the dash or just the cut out for it

There is a socket under the dashboard near the bonnet release but no sign of one in the engine bay anywhere.

No worries then...that's all you need. It's for OBD2.

Being year 2000 you will only have the OBD2 socket
