YUP VACUUM PIPE probably from the headlight level adjuster-- try adjusting the headlights up and down with the small wheel beside the lighting selector switch--- one or both headlights will fail to move up and down

No selector, self leveling.May have to try at night to see if it 's working or not. I dont know how this came loose or maybe i somehow disturbed it .

headlight washer

They are ok .Unless there is more of what the pipe does.Does not seem like there is too much of the pipe to go far from where it is hanging.

When the front of my 203 was dismantled to fit headlamp washers there was a little vacuum reservoir attached to the cross member. Have a look/feel perhaps you have the same and the pipe connects there?

It looks to me as though the Xenons may have been added, purple is the colour for the headlamp adjusters

Very interesting that is.These were supposed to be from factory fittted from new, whitenemeseis sent me a data card and it says bi xenon headlights. ,,i have just turned the lights on and off a few times and do not see them rising up to level as what i see when i turn them on at night.,but should i see them raise in daylight ?....I am thinking the vacuum hose may have been there all along from new .

Just a thought but if the car has Xenons it may be from the headlight washer, as they pop up and down using a vacum I think!!!!

They pop up using water pressure and down using spring pressure
