Hi all,
Have a nice dilemma tomorrow. Taking the ML in for a service, the dealer is keen to sell me a SL to replace my CLS and had agreed to lend me a SL63 for a couple of days. They have sold the SL and so I have to options, C63 or ML63??? Which one needs a test drive?!
Im erring towards the ML as I cant quite get my head around 525bhp in a 4x4

id go with the C63, especially if you are thinking of an SL as its a better comparison than the ML

I'd go for the C63 - I absolutely love my Coupe, and as I also have an ABT Q7, I know which is more fun :0)

I let the fickle hand of fate decide and it was the C63 waiting for me. Initial impression, very hard, very loud, very not me!!
I have a trip to Birmingham tonight so will formulate my opinion shortly!

Ps Malc, missed your wise words. Been off the scene somewhat lately!

After 2 days living with the C63, I can understand how it could be a belting track day car or maybe a weekend car but to be honest its not an everyday car. Too fast, much too fast.

I now conceed that I am not a very good driver! The one absolute revelation has been distronic, I cannot believe that I didnt spec it on mine!

So great fun, brash, shouty and a phenominal machine, but I genuinely am looking forward to getting back into the CLS!

that is simply impossible, in my book! you can never have enough power! i just wish i could AFFORD more power!

Yes little point in having a car that you have to feather around on the UK roads, I will hardly ever use the power that my CL has, re the distronic that is the best extra on the car, its a shame that the PLUS version is only fitted to the S classes.

What does plus do Malc?

Pete, I feared for my license and frankly my life! It has too much power for a road car, you genuinely wont get to use half of its capability on the normal roads- though I accept thats only my opinion. Im not a fussy Captain Slow either, I drive very quickly where its safe but that machine is just on another planet!

The plus takes you right down to a complete stop in traffic, and the cars starts off again with the other traffic, the standard distronic cuts out at 20mph.

I have the plus on my CL and its so nice, I always loved the standard version and so much better than CC

I understand that soon this will be on all cars soon and this could be the plus version as it is an automatic anti collision device.

if it frightens you, i will LOVE it! that feeling of if you push too hard, it will bite you extremely hard really gets my adrenalin pumping! something i miss since giving up banger racing etc

Yes but what does it sound like ? The noise of the SL55 makes me giggle like a loony. If the C63 sounds like a WW2 fighter plane, buy it.

This C63 comes to a complete stop with distronic, you do have to press the gas to get it moving again though

Yes correct, as you say if it does that then it is the plus and I did not know that, it had only been on the S class.
