No history, clearly unloved, eBay sale, "interesting" colour match in picture 3, I would avoid. There will be better ones out there.

will have a better look at picture 3 !! the way i read it is there is only history from 70k to present day, a bit like our E class then.... we have no history for the 1st 3 years of her life and she has 290k on the clock...BUT it was excellent value for my slightly smaller budget:lol:

will look around though dont worry .....i will probably do at least 200 posts before i decide;):D:lol::Oops:

They all have airmatic suspension,, not double glazed I think, the 215 is but no diesels in that range, just the 500 113 engine

I have double glazing in both my CL's the older one is better as the gap between the glass is wider,,,it does make the car quiet though, mainly from car going in the opposite direction.

S class
And there has been £29 grand spent on the car so basically all the niggles will be ironed out..

Should have double glazing. And parking sensors too.

Not sure about the quality of this era of S class though. Having said that, its got as far as it has already, lol.

Another 2005 MB with rust, same as mine. So much for galvanising!

The 320CDi engine is just fine in the W220, although 266,000 is a high mileage for a seven year old car. Parking sensors front and rear were an optional extra. The windows are sort of double glazed, somebody mentioned laminated so that is probably the right term.
The 2005 model is almost at the end of the line (W221 came out in 2006) so most of the problems had been ironed out and had the more up to date wide screen comand system which also was an optional extra. This model was not particularly prone to rust like the pre facelift ones and was indeed galvonised. Does have the airmatic suspension so would need checking.
With that mileage £3000 is about the right money, but I would keep looking. Plenty of them about with 100,000 on the clock and all the extras for under the £5000 mark.
Hope this helps,

Tony

well i got the following reply from the seller

have history from 70,000 miles onwards up to this year. It is cheap and am selling with the mot as is but can't see a problem getting another but that's up to you. It has just sold for £3410 but the buyer had bought another without realising he bought this so I have re listed it.

i would of had a punt on it maybe at 2500...with a new mot:lol:...3400 with a VERY short mot seems wrong to me!!!!

nice car but wrong price:lol:

very tempted to offer the seller of the E55 2500 but i too scared as im sure he will tell me to XXXX XXX
