Hi I am a newbie here and particularly Mercedes Unknowledgeable, so I thought I would ask a couple of stupid questions.

I am looking at used ML 05-10 to pull out of the company car scheme and use for work I do a fair ammount of miles and need occasional 4WD and extra ground clearance, I am torn between the 280 and the 320 ( I have seen a 420 however I think it would be a bit High fuel consumption wise for me )

So what is the real life diference between the two? I was happy with the performence of the 280 until I drove the 320 ( I dare not drive a 420 )

I am looking at an SE rather than a sport is that wise?

Command is it worth it? or is it a useless not full postcode waste ?

Any extras I should be looking for?

I am looking to keep the car till 150K is that feasable? my last car an XC70 AWD was sold at 150k with no issues throughout its life I do about 35k to 40k a year and am looking to buy at up to 50k miles and keep for 2 years

Your experience would be appreciated

Thanks

Dreaming of a CL55k - one day maybe....
Can't comment on the new model that well, however from my experience in the REAL world (rather than Govt test figures) larger engined Mercs aren't actually much more thirsty than smaller ones.... so try a 420 if I were you.

My ML500 does around 21mpg - The 320 (which has far worse performance) only does about 23 - For 2mpg the bigger engine is well worth it.

Thanks for your reply , the 420 has a low milage huge torque and is a v8 so it ticks all my boxes however I am trying to have a sensible head on I know if I drive it and if the car is sound I will want it, but should I
