Hello,

I am new to this forum and Mercedes cars so bear with me please :)

About 4 days ago I heard a weird sound from underneath my car, like I was dragging something and when I pulled over, I saw that my engine undershield/undercover fell off and was holding by one clip.

I am talking about the middle one, the big one, and also the front small one is only held by half of the clips.

I had to pull it off so that I could drive away, but now, I can't think of a way to mount it back.

I was wondering if you know a website where I can find those "clips" that go into the frame (I don't have those as well, all I have is empty holes, so I assume that the clips go into those holes, so that I can screw the undershield to them).

Last week I drove through a flooded road, so I assume that the water pulled it off...

Also, is it safe to drive without the undershield until I can order or buy those clips to mount it back?

I live in Coventry, UK. If anyone knows an online site or any shop near me, I would appreciate it a lot.

I am also off to Mercedes of Coventry, to see if they have it and also how much would it cost directly from them.

Thank you

I think a pack of clips and screws is available from MB for about £8, at least thats about what i paid when I lost my undertray.

Hi,

I have just came back from Mercedes. They quoted me £34.80 for them. I asked the for the invoice so I can search online for the part number. The Mercedes is w203.

The parts numbers are : MA001 990 60 36; MA004 994 31 45; MA001 994 98 45 and MN000000 000548.

Now I just have to find an online website because £35 seems a bit to much.
Do you know any website that has these parts? I would appreciate it. And thanks for your fast response.

You can drive the car without the shield(s) fitted.
If you feel more comfortable with it fitted, as a temporary measure, you can use tough cable ties, till you find the right parts.

I left mine off. So much easier to check and fix anything, service etc.
Dont see the point unless you race on a track and need the minute extra grip or go off roadin.

Thank you all for your help. I decided to leave it off until I can find a cheap solution; now that I am confident that I can drive without it for a while.
I rather spend £40 in a pub than giving it to Mercedes :).

Cable tie is a good choice...
