It was on Comfort on Airmatic due to the drive being full of holes - Sport 2 takes it much lower.

do you have the lowering links fitted ?

Not on airmatic - it's been slightly lowered at the front via STAR, by Acid at MSL.

Lowering messes up the camber and the adjustment bolts don't bring it back within spec.

John, nice image but you'd be better taking it either straight on sideways or at a stonger angle and a bit lower to get a 3/4 1/4 view.

Look at my album for ideas

Lowering does change the camber angles (and possibly others too) but they can be brought back into spec, just need to find someone who knows what he is doing.
ADC will lower the car automatically depending on speed and driver inputs. It's a very cleverly thought out system. Comfort and handling, as you choose!

That may well be so but the adjustment bolts fitted to my car never brought it within spec. Close to, but still out.

Could you tell me how the system on your car affects the camber as you raise abs lower the car.

Would sport 2 by lowering your car increase negative camber causing tyres to wear or would the system compensate the camber Angke of the wheel?

Quoting from the MB info

"With the comfort and sport switch (N72s25) the driver can choose
between either a comfort-oriented or 2 sporty performance maps.
The "comfort" setting maintains the damping within the comfortable
range as far as the driving style and road conditions will allow. The
"Sport 1" setting makes the damping somewhat "harder". The
"Sport 2" setting shifts the damping faster to a somewhat "harder"
rating. At a speed in excess of 40 km/h in "Sport 2" the
suspension is also constantly set to hard (auxiliary air volume off).
Similarly the level control for Sport 1 and 2 lowers the vehicle level
by 10 or 15 mm."

Not sure 15mm would shift the angles outside tolerance, considering how the car (any car come to that) lowers when loaded?

I dropped mine iirc by 20mm and it was enough to put it out

Because you dropped the static level by 20mm. With ADS the start point remains the same. The drop is only done dynamically so to speak.
When I had MB check my geometry they said the camber angle was OS. They had to adjust the static ride height (using STAR) before they could recheck the angles and all was then in spec.

Thats good Info Peter.

One more question, say I was to procure an airmatic car. An S350cdi bluetech in a few years time maybe ;) would I be able to lower it on a Renntech module without messing up the geometry or would that, because its outwith MBs parameters cause it to have camber issues?

I can only think it would be the same as when you dropped the E. The Renntech module would lower the static (start) height from which the car would drop further dynamically.

But that's just my theories, have a word with Olly. As he is a Renntech agent he would have the contacts to get the definitive answers.

What my experience with the CLS has shown me is that on the Airmatic suspension unless the guys doing the geo have STAR they wouldn't get it correct!
