Ipod/Comand Display

Morning all. Looking for some assistance with a Comand/Ipod display problem.

I've just treated myself to a late 61 plate S350L CDI Bluetec. I've plugged my Ipod into the socket, in the glovebox, with the cable supplied by MB dealer.
Getting wonderful sound, but the Comand display will only show a string of four apparently random letters for artist/track/album name etc.
All the info is shown correctly on the Ipod, when disconnected.

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi Guys, just a quick update on this now solved problem.
MB originally supplied me with incorrect media interface cables. Apparently the S class requires different cables from other models.
New set supplied and all is now working.

Glad you got it sorted. Is the volume level low compared to other functions, CD, radio etc.?

When I checked on mine I saw there were 3 different cables listed, it would appear that none are fitted as standard.

Volume seems to be similar to radio and cd.
There is a marked difference if a DVD is played. The volume needs to be increased to a much higher level.
You then have to remember, when going back to radio, or end up with bleeding ears.

Now that is funny, on mine the volume level for Ipod is noticeabley lower (I have it set to the highest level in the menu) than anything else. The DVD level is fine.

I have the same bleeding ears scenario with the ipod, particularly with traffic announcements.
