Hi

My CDI 270 has a cold starting issue at temperatures at or below 1 degree C. What works is Easy Start although clearly it is not a long term solution. Last year I replaced the battery and had a specialist replace the crankshaft sensor and 6 rubber o-rings in the fuel lines (a common problem as I understand it). It also had a B service.

None of the above has resolved the cold start issue and I am wondering whether replacing the fuel lines themselves could be a fix.

If so, my first question is - where are they located?

If anybody has part numbers / a diagram of their location please share.

Thanks in advance,

Breeze

I doubt fuel line themselves are problem. There are also o-rings in low pressure pump, high pressure return lines, and pressure sensor and regulator, which can leak and cause rail pressure drop. In addition high pressure pump internal leak is possible (can be different in cold or warm pump), and leak of the injectors! Injector leak is rather easy to measure, and O-rings checked. There is sealing kit also for high pressure pump (just changed in mine W210), but determining the leak is more difficult.

I have just had my high pressure pump replaced and so far it seems to have solved it. The o-rings were done a little while back (they made no difference) but as far as I know the lines themselves are unchanged.

Thanks for your suggestions.
