Hi All,

I have a water leak into the drivers side footwell in my 55 plate C class, wondered if anybody can give me any pointers as to where the leak could be coming from ?
We have had heavy rain recently and this has highlighted the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the heater air intake at the base of the windscreen. Could be blocked with debris and overflowing into the car.

Not sure on the C class. Lift the bonnet and look for the black plastic grating. It can be gently prised off and then you should be able to see if the chamber is full. I use a length of flexible curtain wire to clear the drain.
The chamber is big enough to allow your hand to reach to the bottom to clear any large debris.

If you actually have water in the car the heater box drain could be blocked, the was a weld that got missed on some 203 cars that lets water in, the heater box drain must come out under the passenger side rear section of the wheel arch liner

Water ingress drivers footwell w203

Hello Members,

First time post, had the same problem 2 inches of water in the drivers footwell after heavy downpour, took advice from here and cleaned the 3 plastic tubes along the bulkhead, still water coming in, spoke to a garage, they said among other things sunroof (dont have one) door rubber (not perished) and went from there they even wanted to remove the wing!
Anyway decided to take the plunge and removed the wheel along with the wheel arch lining pretty straight forward job, found the down pipe which is located underneath the fusebox cleaned that it wasnt blocked then found the problem a 34mm rubber gromit had perished and this was what was letting the water in, it was trickling or pouring from (Malcolms diargram item 240) and down the back of the wheel arch lining, replaced the part main dealer £2.10 small note they have replaced the original rubber one with plastic now, put back together and then tested with watering can, have a couple of pictures of the completed job, for reference 10mm socket for main plastic nuts, one metal bolt 8mm right under the car, hope that helps will put links here for the pictures. http://s14.postimg.org/bvwq1os4x/photo_1.jpg
