We have been told in previous threads that the limiter can be easily removed by someone with access to and knowledge of developer mode in comand. Does anyone know one of these elusive people? Regards, Jeff

Comand.co.uk would be my first thought. Pretty much the gurus for anything STAR coding related

I do not think that they would do this as not really lawful

Why not lawful Malcolm ?

The 155mph limit is a gentleman's agreement, plenty of cars though, will go faster.

Comand on line are quite strict when it comes to these kinds of mods, I feel sure that I have known Alfie long enough to say that he would not change the cars spec, I could be wrong ;)

Maybe lawful was the wrong word.

As you suspected, Comand .Co can't/won't do it so any other suggestions gratefully received. I don't really want a remap, just the limit removed. Regards, Jeff.

An indie with STAR may be able to help.

Highly envious as my 500 miles this week I haven't been able to get north of 55 owing to traffic.. :(

why do you need to disable it? ... can't you just set it higher?

All cars, well most have a limiter that stops the car from going over 155 mph, its not the limiter on the stalk

I do!!!.... but usually you are concentrating on the road! .... and as the car is quite new to me its tricky!!

:) Just 'floor it' then ......... that'll turn the limiter off too (you'll get a buzzer to tell you - I assume so because R Class does ;) )

Surely the remap people can and will do this without the need for a remap? can't they?

Comand.co.uk would do it after the signing of a disclaimer but it requires a special add-on to Star that we dont have (yet) ;)

The BMW M5 used to be limited only in 7th, if you went through 155 in 6th then changed up you were fine :)

Never hit the limiter in my 320, 145 is all I took it to, my 911 isn't limited by anything other than my right foot... I've been mostly good so far...
