Good afternoon. Help needed, please.

W140 - S320L - 1998.

I have just got my car back from the Dealers (where they must have disconnected the battery to do some work, as the clock needed resetting) and I have noticed something different with my Parktronic.

The system now defaults to OFF when I start-up. When I press the button to switch Parktronic back ON, the front displays light up, give a long beep and then switch themselves OFF again.

What do I need to do to configure Parktronic to default to ON, when I start up, please?

Thanks.

Nothing that you can do for this, it needs STAR to see what has happened

It almost sounds like the sensors are disconnected, but I do not know why they should be, you will have to stay in all Christmas :(

The rear display wasn't working when I selected Reverse, which was one of the reasons it went in to be fixed. A new 'interrupter' was fitted. Your suggestion of the sensors being disconnected, now makes sense. :p

As for staying in - I'll get Mrs Jez to drive me about in hers, which means I can drink

Hi,
The symptons you are describing is normally indicative of a sensor(s) failling or in my case a partially disconnected plug for the front sensor loom.
Plugging into STAR should be able to pinpoint the fault, whether thats a failling sensor(s) or a disconnected loom or the like.

There IS a Father Christmas.!

He called last night and set his Elf Technicians to work on the non-functioning Parktronic - the system now works perfectly again.

The Miracle of Christmas :p
