So do the lines on each side come on at 100k then? Always wondered the point... Mine has done this when you change to kilometres. Not long till mine gets there, 83k and 3.5k per month, sept 2013 I reckon :)

Yes Ricardo, you are spot on. I had not even noticed the lines. I took a picture when it was at 99999 and there were no lines and at 100000 there is.

I would post a picture of the 99999, but given the success of my previous attempt maybe I should not bother.

Hi Sue,
Sadly no I have only driven the last 4000 miles. I got the car in Sept. I was a little nervous about buying a car with 96k on the clock. But with a 3 litre diesel engine I thought it would not be too much of a risk. I had a test drive and that confirmed that it felt better than okay.

I hope to keep it for a number of years, as our second car, as I have a company car as well. However I seem to be doing more miles than I thought I would in the Merc, helped by the fact my daughter and wife use my Golf GTD and I am using the. Merc for my daily commute. :)

That's a general statement if ever there was one! What kind of Merc? A big snorting V8 driving through an auto box, or wheezy 4 pot lugging a huge estate behind it?:rolleyes:

Nothing like yet more sweeping generalisations :confused:Well mine is one of those wheezing 4 pots you mention! 170bhp and great on a motorway at any pace.....

Oh and at 83k miles its nicer than any insignia or BMW with half the mileage.... Cleaned up ( which I don't have much time for) mine at 3.5 years old doesnt look any or ride any different to a 30k model

All cars should have more cylinders than doors and bhp isn't the B all & end all ....... torques are what matters. ;)
My other car is nicer than the Insignia & BMW too & it has almost 100k more miles than your ....... and also has 6 cylinders

I shall be looking to cross over the 200,000 miles in the not too distant future,
in my 1995 coupe (124)
