If anybody saw 2 people next to a 210 in the hard shoulder of the m25 today in front of JCT 6 exit clockwise that was me and my girlfriend (standing in the ****ing rain).

The ****** Wiper mechanism gave up the ghost on me today (of all days!). Pain in the arse considering I lubed it up last time I serviced it around 6 months ago, It doesnt seem like the mechanism that moves it up and down and around is broken, but the connection from the motor to the mechanism (I can hear the motor spinning).

argh

Just wanted a rant and to see if anybody has had a similair problem before I rip it out to find the problem.

Sorry to hear you're stuck. I guess wipers have been a bit overused recently.

Has it been tight in the past,,the damage could have been done ages ago, the linkage can come apart, as can the nut on top of the motor comes loose

It has been a bit noisy in the past when ran for long periods of time. Greasing it didn't seem to help :(

I will have to pull it off and check the damage. Any idea If the pre face lift mechanisms will fit? As there is one on eBay at the moment?

Oil is better than grease,,it gets in places that grease cannot and grease will take in water.

So far there is just these 2

008 A 2108200041 LINKAGE,
015 A 2108200141 LINKAGE,
Pane wiper linkage

There is no way that I can tell if one is for the facelift, it could have been a slight change and there are no numbers from number xxx So I think that you are safe

Hi,
From the symptons you are describing this sounds like the plastic worm gear on the drive end of the wiper motor has broken, as this is,nt meant to be removeable and not available as a separate part it will require replacing the complete wiper motor as an assembly.
