Softer riding tyre for CLK?

Currently have Bridgestone 205 55R 16 V91 tyres on a 2001 CLK Cabriolet. The fronts could do with replacing soon and was wondering if there are any tyre makes or types that would give a slightly softer ride. I do find the car a little hard, well firm. Thanks.

I had that make and size on the front of my car, although it had 225/50R16 on the rear. It felt like it was fitted with iron rings rather then rubber tyres.

I changed the rears as they wore out first for Michelin Primacy HP's and it didn't seem to make a lot of difference. Once I changed the fronts too then I reckon it was loads better.

I had the same problem on my V70R and like steel tyres with 205 x 50 x17 and I went to 215 x 50 x 17 the difference was really worth it,,ok you will lose your speedo error and it will read spot on.

A 205 x 50 has a sidewall height of 102.5mm
A 215 x 55 has a sidewall height of 107.5mm

So you are just increasing the diameter by 10mm but a huge improvement

Go to your local MB dealer and ask for a test drive for a car fitted with CS5. That's what I've done yesterday
