By rights they do not make a lot of difference, I only ever buy cars that have all that and it just makes the car more desirable and easier to sell.

Yes it is worth more, not by a lot though as fortunately many just buy any car without checking to see what they are missing or they just are not interested at all in these wonderful extra's.

If you like the car I would snap it up if a sensible price was reached :D:D

Sorry I do not follow all car prices, when buying I look at all sources for secondhand cars and work it out from there. or put another way on a £10k car certainly no more than £1k, probably less if possible.

When I bought my last CL that had everything it was no more expensive than the cars that had nothing. Many private sellers think their cars are worth as much as a dealer price, and this is wrong as they are not.
Hopefully someone else can advise better on this

The car is pretty well specced for a diesel CLS. What is the mileage on the car? I guess at that price, the mileage will be in high numbers.

Sorry, I skipped the part where you put 70k. Verify also the service history, check the state of the tyres and do a HPI check. If all okay, then feel confident to do the deal. Not a bad deal @ that price. :)

Most will take a good offer, they always try at first for the best price,,, as you rightly say, testing the water. Is the colour OK for you, if the tyres are like new, this all makes a difference as many dealers will sell cars with 3mm of tread

Negotiate a little bit more because most people come January period are usually broke. If he really wants to get rid of the car, I don't see why £11k or even £11.5 at the most will not suffice to seal the deal. Anyway, let us know the outcome!

A great spec gives a great feeling - don't be put off by the "more to go wrong" brigade, who usually don't have that spec themselves - their favourite colour is green.

+1 for verifying the mileage as best as you can.

I viewed a CLS with a recorded 70k or so but judging from the condition of the seats it had either done 270k or been used as a minicab. All 4 seats were heavily worn, even the rears had a saggy appearance.

Worth viewing/test driving a couple just so you get a feel of what a genuine one should look like.

You are right on this,,its the only way to see the difference and you learn a lot.

I remember the First SL that I went to see had some bad marks in the car, it was after getting a good clean one that I knew that the marks in that first one were there for life, and this was something that you could see, and that leaves the unknown
