2001 W210 e200 kompressor - useful life

Hello all,

I have a 2001 W210 e200 kompressor.

I purchased it in late 2009. There was 47000 miles on it when I got it and there is now 78000.

Since I have had it I have replaced a MAF, battery, droplinks and tyres. Apart from that reliability has been good.

Im considering changing it for something else.

Is it reasonable to expect 2 more years of reliable everyday motoring out of an 01 W210 with kompressor engine. Is it likely to start giving me serious problems now that it is over 10 years old?

Advice and thoughts would be appreciated.

I bought my 2001 E200K six years ago with 45K on the clock. Currently has 140K and hasn't given any trouble apart from usual service items.
I think with only 78K on yours you could reasonably expect it to go on for quite a number of years yet. How about the bodywork, is that rusting at all?

The rust is minimal. As far as I can tell some little rust spots on the driver side front door and panel near fron door. I have monitored these and they dont seem to be worsening so I have left them as they are.

I think I will carry on and take it to 100000 miles at least which would mean at least 2 more years driving for me.

I agree with Television, I decided to keep mine for the same reason, given its age and mileage it isn't really worth anything so as long as it keeps going and doesn't cost much in repairs then as Malcolm says it's cheap motoring

If the rust isn't bad on yours with only 78K on the clock it should go on for ages yet
