Hi

I have a w210 E220 cdi, today the heater blower finally gave up the ghost,it had been acting up over the past 2-3 months (set on a low speed but suddenly jumping up to full pelt or not working then all of a sudden kicking into gear).

Now the speed control (not climate, just dial type) is stuck on a low setting, turning the dial up has no effect whatsoever.Hot air is blowing out however.

After reading several other threads on this forum it seems to me that this could be a regulator problem? If it is can anyone inform me if this is something i can/should be attempting to fix myself or specialist m/b indie needed?

Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks!
Gary

Very simple DIY undo the covers under the passenger side and the motor will be seen regulators can be bought on EBAY simply.
Search on here and theres some helpful pictures.

Contemplating my next
Mine was playing up recently [needed to press the control quite hard into the dash as well as rotating it to respond] and it seemed to be trying very hard to blow air through without much discernable temperature variation.

Tried a regulator - it didn't make that much difference. Had the filters changed and it is transformed with good airflow and icecold AC - I still have to press the control quite hard sometimes but I can live with that.

Good luck fixing it

Mine has gone the same way today.
Same vehicle as the OP.
I have looked on ebay and can see 2 regulators
230677305885 £21.75
330685576862 £139.99
Are they just similar but one dearer than the other or could it be 1 fits the other doesn’t

Also is it an easy fix?
Can't remember seeing the blower when i changed the filter

blower regulator

Hi

Heater blower now fixed, thanks to all for advice, much appreciated chaps.

Managed to source regulator part from e-bay, new part delivered for £24.

Easy to fix, 20 minutes tops. (Thanks frontstep and television)

My original part no. was 210 820 6210. If you are checking on ebay you will find that after
market parts may display a different number but will state if they will fit the original part
number you require.

Hi Jazzman
As your car is the same as mine can you give me a talk through on your fix?
As I put in my earlier post I didn't really see the blower when I changed the pollen filter.
Working outside in the cold any heads-up will be appreciated

You can be warmer get in the car undo cover above feet in passenger side then undo four screw cover black/.
You will then see your regulator take the part number off it.
It just unscrews. This is mine with cover removed

Thanks Malcolm
I will give Frontsteps advice first as it sounds quite easy.
I may wait till I get to work and undercover though as big as the car is I remember I was too long in the body to work in the foot well
Cheers all

Steve
