Ok, so my day WAS uneventful, until I just got home...

Pulled up, switched off the engine and heard water running... noticed steam at the front of the car.... Looked behind, and wet marks from the tyres all down the road. The road under the car is covered in coolant

Ive lifted the bonnet, and had a look with the torch... the coolant tank is almost empty... and the front of the engine and around the alternator and fan is wet.

Could it be the water pump? are they likely to fail on the 211?

Im hoping it could just be a rubber pipe:confused:

I would think a pipe, if the seal gland failed it would not pour out from the pump,, if you need any info just ask when you see what it is in the morning

Common fault here is where the high pressure pump has leaked in its life and made the bottom hose go soft, bottom hose then just loses its grip and blows off........

Or the water pump has gone........

Thanks

Ill let the engine cool off for a bit, and have another look with the torch.

It did not seem that any rubber pipes had come off... nothing stuck out as being out of place. but touch wood, fingers crossed and whatnot ... it is just a pipe.

Morning Television,

Do you have the instructions for the water pump removal / refitting please?

VIN: WDB2110262A201329

Email: danny.whiting @ ntlworld.com

Ive had a look, the rubber pipes look ok, So I am guessing it is the pump... which is going to be a fan out job:)

Which I dont mind, its all good learning.. So long as the rain holds off.

Many thanks
