SL350 - R230 - year 2003
Hello,
I have a SL350 and i have a problem with my central locking (PSE doesn't work)
So i checked the 20A fuse, and it looked ok!
After that, I decided to open the PSE pump and I found that the motor is out of service, it looks burned and the black and red wires (+12v) are also burned.
Then I opened the motor and saw that a black turning part is broken.
I uploaded pictures to be more comprehensive cause my english is bad:D

I don't want to buy a new PSE for 700€ or something like that.
I just want to change the motor of the pump by an other one.
Can i try to put another motor inside (from another PSE Pump?)
I saw the W220 PSE pump which looks like the R230 PSE but Can I swap the motor of the W220 PSE to put it inside the R230 PSE?
And , other question where can i buy an alone motor (from a R230 PSE) with a good black turning part?
Thanks :)

thanks for your answer, is it the full pump with the motor and PCB or just the motor? Please Can you send me some pics of the pump (inside if possible) and give me the references (bosch and mercedes)
It's a pump from a W220 or a R230 mercedes?

I have withdrawn the offer for the motor only as I offered it to some one else and they came forward and bought it this morning.

I can offer you a PSE pump complete for a 230, it was one that I kept when I had my 230, but I sold that 230 earlier this year, I was putting it on Ebay for £400 but you can have it for £350 if you are interested.

I know that I could open it up and sell the motor on its own, then sell the PCB on but I would have to think about that

Why not try euromerc and see if they have one? Or maybe Dronsfields or other breakers?

Thanks for responses.

Does anybody know if these units are an easy plug and play or do they have to be coded to the alarm as I've seen suggested. Any other issues to look out for?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

They are nothing to do with the alarm on a 230. they only have to be programmed if the car has comfort seats or multi contour backrest. they will work on these but the seat function will not until its been on STAR

Ask one of the indy's who come on here Steve@Avantgarde, Alex Crow, BlackC55, just PM any one of those and they will give you more specific advice.

I have stood by an MB technician who removed my duff unit, took another out of stores, plugged it in & it worked straight away - no coding required for all basic functions. Mine did have comfort seats so it needed to be told that via Star

Or you could waste time ;)

At the same time if you got a PSE pump from a car that had been programmed for comfort seats and your car did not have them, the CAN would turn that function off to safeguard the pump.
